Lilies of the Field
Back to basics on this one as it's just Jordan and Cameron discussing the 1963 film, Lilies of the Field. In a bit of wild serendipity, we recorded this episode literally the night before Sidney Poitier passed away, and so we take some time to honor his life and legacy in the intro.
This is the movie that won Sidney his first and only Oscar for Best Actor and was the first time any Black person had won in the Best Actor category. We talk about how his charisma carries the film, what it means that he won for this movie, his overall legacy, and...Billy Dee Williams was in the sequel?
Movies suggested: Just watch any movie with Sidney, you can't go wrong.
