This week, we've got a special Patreon preview! As we get things ready to launch, we thought it would be fun to give a little a preview of some of the things we got in store. 
From discussions on film, to interviews with creatives and journalist, to reviews of Black Tubi movies, we have big plans. So let us know what you'd like to see!
For today, we decided to dive into the very serious discussion of who is canonically Black. Piccolo, Gargoyles, Knuckles, the shark from Deep Blue Sea. We run through our list of well known as well as deeply held beliefs of undercover Black characters.

We then dive into Bond as real world colonial analogue, what we'd like to see moving forward and check out the current betting odds. Is Idris still in the running?

Together, they talk about Ms. Bartlett's unseasoned dance moves, the coded Disney imagery (specifically Chuy), and true story that inspired the movie.

Look, C. Thomas Howell is in black face. Period. That's the movie. But we are so very lucky to be joined by the perfect guests to discuss this train wreck, Wynter and Karen from Waiting to X-Hale! 
There's so much to discuss here. Karen and Wynter discuss seeing this movie in theaters. We talk about the absurdity of "tanning pills", C. Thomas Howell and Rae Dawn Chong getting married (!) after this movie and their continued defense of the film. And the fever dream of a music video that came out with the movie.

On the one hand, it's mostly a terrible kids movie with some unbelievably bad raps by Shaq, goofy CGI and a non-sensical plot. On the other hand, Max literally grants Shaq his freedom after telling him multiple times that he "owns him".

The Substitute

School is out, but we're going back to the classroom, rolling out the big TV on the cart, and watching Bill Nye. That's right, we're talking about The 1996 caucastic classic, The Substitute. 
Starring Tom Berenger, Ernie Hudson, and Diane Venora, it's a masterclass of middle aged karate, 30 year old gangbanging teens, and one of the most convoluted plots we've seen in a while. 
Nothing to plug this week, except if you can, think about making a donation to the NNAF Abortion Funds to help support local clinics.

Pocahontas (Feat. Hanna Flint)

Once again, we're coming for some of your problematic childhood faves! This time around, it's the 1995 Disney hit, Pocahontas. 
We're lucky to be joined by the tremendous Hanna Flint (MTV Movies) to break down the long list of things wrong with this movie, starting with the fact that it's all a lie. We get into the true story of Pocahontas, talk about the strange behind the scenes, and if it would even be possible to remake the movie today.

Gods of Egypt

Finally, the movie Jordan has been waiting to talk about since the podcast started, 2016's Gods of Egypt!
That's right, a movie called Gods of Egypt, but staring only one Black person (Chadwick Boseman). A movie called Gods of Egypt, but according to the director Alex Proyas, isn't actually about Egypt at all. A movie called Gods of Egypt, but cast one of the palest actors around in Geoffrey Rush as RA THE GOD OF THE SUN!
We get into the absurd casting, the incredible quotes from the director and cast, and get into some prime caucacity courtesy of James Patterson.
